Hi, let me first thank you for visiting my home page. I don’t know whether there is a reason or not to visit my home page, but you are here. May be you chanced upon this page also through your search, but any way you are here.

There are many people who came to my life with pre-defined intentions, some came along as my life moved ahead and some came by chance. But there were two things in common- either they influenced me or I influenced them, and there were two directions- positive and negative. Such an equation brought myriad impact to myself as a person and plethora of work that I did over the years. Muti-dimensionality of this impact made my life meaningful and sensible or otherwise it could have been like any biological animal- hey! This guy was borne as an animal and died as an animal !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a tag I never wanted to wear and worked in some other way to make a little change on my as well as life of people around me.

Did I get a good deal in life? I don’t know and don’t want to judge that at this point of time, being forty something is not that a long span to draw conclusions about how life was and what work I did.

Yes, I experimented a lot in life because I had nothing to lose. I had nothing to lose because I had nothing to own, as the caravan moved ahead, people came along and things also fell in line. I still continue to experiment a lot at least on the career front- did a lot of job, quite different from one another- started as a tutor, in parallel continued as a tourist guide and as a faculty in a small management college in Bhubaneswar, jumped from there to Indian institute of Management Lucknow; moved to IIMKozhikode and then to IIMIndore and finally shifted to a corporate job as President (Marketing & Corporate Affairs) at Everonn Education Limited; but all that for job, money and career-------------in between did lot of work; you can call them as side works ------ wrote original stories in Oriya and English (published 1.5 books- an anthology of short stories “Naxalite and Other Stories” and half published book (Lal Swapna) which was burnt down by me while in print)--------- delved into lyrics for music directors in Orissa,---------------- translated stories from Oriya to English----------------------wrote columns in newspapers like Dharitri, Sambad, Hindu Business Line and Economic Times------------------------edited youth page of a newspaper-----------------------wrote fifteen management books----------------- made television serials and documentaries for international production houses (Sony TV Japan)------------------did consulting for multinational brands like LG, Siemens as well as social development sector on subjects like family planning and still child birth for Government of India.

Few things have remained constant over the years- my reading habits (Paulo Cohelo, Dalrymple, Arvind  Adiga, Amitav Bose, Ramakata Rath and Pablo Neruda), listening to Jagjit Singh ( Chand ke bahane kitne dard purane nikle, kitne gum the jot ere gum ke bahane nikale) and classical Indian music (Raag Darbari, Dhrupad and Abeda Parveen) for long hours; long drives on sea side roads (more with the Honda City now), teasing my lovely wife Julie for small mistakes (actually she loses temper very fast and both father and son, we take advantage of that); watching my son Tejasvee growing up as a teen ager (his voice is changing now); my maternal grandfather (Jagannath Mohapatra) getting older and older and being nostalgic about the golden years of life….

Counting on friends, very few and enemies….many more and many more to come…. Yes there are two friends who are there always with me- Manoj and Kamalakanta, two gems in my life; always at every point of life. Beyond this is Bivraj who is always there with me, marriage, Google’s birth, research and all difficult moments of life. While I think about friends, I shouldn’t forget enemies because they inspire to do better and better….. thanks to all of them….

Someone is missing over the years…. Someone who will own a bit of my pain, my suffering, celebrate my success and happiness, someone is missing… really.
